Trouble is built on excellent services and open-source software. Where attribution is required next to content (maps, photos), it also appears directly beside that content.

The idea behind Trouble

Trouble is the idea of Lilach Shmuel and Liat Shmuel Cohen.

Maps and places

  • Google Maps Platform — place links, coordinates and the "Open in Google Maps" buttons throughout trips.
  • Google Places — place details and the photos shown on place, area and destination cards. Each photo is attributed to its Google Maps contributor directly beside the image.
  • OpenStreetMap — interactive map tiles on trip pages. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
  • Leaflet — the open-source map rendering library.

AI

  • OpenAI — the language models behind trip generation and editing.

Infrastructure

  • Supabase — database, authentication and Row Level Security for saved trips.
  • Railway — hosting for the Trouble website and the API backend.
  • Cloudflare — DNS, TLS and edge delivery for the website domain.

Open source

  • React Native & Expo — the Trouble mobile app.
  • Next.js, React and Tailwind CSS — this website.

Photo attribution

Place, area and destination photos are provided by Google Places and remain the property of their photographers. The required attribution is shown in a small badge on each photo; this page does not replace those per-photo credits.
