Privacy policy
Last updated: July 2026
Draft for review: this is placeholder legal text. It must be reviewed and approved by the Trouble owner (and ideally legal counsel) before publication.
This policy explains what data Trouble ("we", "the app") collects, why, and what control you have over it. It covers the Trouble mobile app and this website.
Data we collect
- Account data. Email address and authentication identifiers when you create an account.
- Trip data. The trips you create — destinations, itineraries, notes, packing lists, saved places and expenses — stored so they sync across your devices.
- Trip requests. The preferences you enter (destination, dates, styles) are sent to our AI provider to generate your trip.
- Technical data. Basic logs needed to run and secure the service (timestamps, request status, IP-based rate limiting).
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use advertising trackers on this website.
- Shared trip pages never include your private notes, expenses, email address or account identifiers.
Sharing a trip
When you share a trip, a snapshot of the itinerary is made available at a unique link. Anyone with the link can view that snapshot. You can stop sharing at any time from the app, which disables the link.
Third-party services
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
- OpenAI — processes trip-generation requests.
- Google Maps Platform — place details and photos.
- OpenStreetMap — map tiles on shared trip pages.
Data retention and deletion
Trip data is kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Delete my account.
